Reference, Instruction, and Outreach (RIO): Overview

Guide to provide a forum to learn and share ideas about the various aspects of library reference, instruction, and outreach.

General Information

The Reference, Instruction, and Outreach (RIO) Interest Group provides a forum to discuss RIO issues while sharing ideas about potential speakers and workshops. Topics may include reference services, library promotion strategies, use of social media, information literacy, media literacy, virtual instruction, community engagement, library programming, and collaboration among campus groups. Facilitated by Kate Moss at The College of Saint Rose and Lisa Shaffer at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the group typically meets the second Thursday of each month from 11 am - 12 pm, please check the upcoming meetings section below to find out when the next meeting is.
