New York State Historic Newspapers is a fantastic resource for all types of libraries. It provides free indexed access to selected historical newspapers from across New York State. Currently, the site holds over 200 newspapers, with millions of searchable pages!
During this presentation, you'll learn the history behind the website and become familiar with basic and advanced search strategies, including personal name search methods.
We will also discuss the criteria needed to get your library’s newspapers included in the project, including the possibility of receiving some funding through CDLC to get you started.
This program would be of interest to staff in public, academic, school and special libraries.
This event is free and open to all members of CDLC institutions. Although it is not required, we recommend participants bring a laptop or tablet to follow along.
Registration is required by Friday, March 27th.
Due to a limited number of seats, if you register and are unable to attend, please contact Susan D'Entremont at firstname.lastname@example.org.
